Dan Ward announces the support of labor and veterans groups
ORANGE, VA – Following a slate of endorsements from local candidates and party officials earlier in the week, today Dan Ward received the endorsement of the Virginia AFL-CIO and the Virginia Communication Workers of America.
“The Virginia AFL-CIO is proud to endorse Dan Ward for the Democratic Candidate in CD 7,” said Doris Crouse-Mays, Virginia AFL-CIO President. “As a union member Dan knows firsthand the issues and priorities for Virginia’s working families.”
“I am a proud union member and honored by the support of my brothers and sisters in the labor movement,” Ward said, “Now more than ever, we need to be fighting for the working people of this country.”
Dan Ward also received yesterday the endorsement of With Honor, whose mission is to support “principled next-generation veterans to office who will work in a cross-partisan way to create a more effective and less polarized government.”
Dan Ward spent almost 25 years in the Marine Corps. He flew attack jets in combat missions over Iraq, Bosnia, and Kosovo. As a colonel, Ward served as a senior military advisor in President Obama's State Department. Dan lives on a farm in Orange with his wife where they raise cattle and run a sawmill repurposing historic lumber. They have two children in college and two dogs running around the farm.
